Here are some cosy inspirations for you to bring inside your home.
In our busy life, we need to feel relaxed once back home. Uncluttered decoration helps to clear your mind. I have collected for you my favorite cosy items. Click on the images, I added a link on any items you can buy online.
Relax and enjoy : )
A rocking horse ? No, a rocking sheep is much cozier !
The architect of Zermatt, world-renowned Heinz Julen, designed this duplex apartment underroof of 206 m2.
With its wood fire nestled in the midst of the great lounge window and hand-made furniture inventions (its famous chandeliers and chairs) this apartment has been featured in numerous weekly editions of “design”.
Very open thanks to its glass roof, this chalet offers a panoramic view of the village and the Mischabel mountains.
On the main floor: large living room with three separate relaxation areas, dining room, kitchen and two terraces. There are also two double rooms with wooden ceilings at each end of the floor. Each room has its own bathroom / WC, TV and balcony.
The top floor is the bedroom with a separate mistress circular Jacuzzi bath, a glass ceiling, stunning views and a separate shower and toilet.
On the ground floor is the fourth double bedroom with its own massage shower / wc: private sauna glazed room to be with a “treadmill” (treadmill) and two chairs.
The three floors are connected by private and / or stairs lift. The Penthouse and Heinz Julen Loft are two of the most original Zermatt properties.
This is a very good inspiration for a chalet design, bringing light and more space. Of course, building such a big glass roof must cost some more but at the moment, roof building and insulation regulation makes the price going up anyway, so why not choosing a glass roof for a room !
Here are some pictures of an old farm renovated recently. I found the decoration interesting as it is very colorful. It contrasts the “grey” colors we often find now in modern decoration. And it is still a very relaxing peaceful place.
This old Dutch farmhouse was renovated by Larissa, an interior designer and her husband, Peter, project developer. Originally built in 1860, the farm now is the home of the couple and their 2 kids. While keeping the old character of the space, Larissa and Peter created intimacy and a cosy modern feel to their home.
Concrete floor, wooden beams and plenty of colors and textures : it looks like it a good mix for this interior !
Baptized by Nature Design is a functional and affordable Eco furniture collection made of driftwood in combination with other materials.
At CosyNEVE, we love the creative process that Cathérine Op de Beeck operates. She is using the strenght of nature while respecting it. It is a very inspirational work and I hope you will enjoy it.
A creative story about wood formed and grayed by nature.
Cathérine Op de Beeck (14/01/82 Roeselare) makes modern, functional little furniture and useful accessories with a very unique look. Every creation is unique by its literal meaning. Her collection is made from driftwood, from tree trunks that travelled hundreds of kilometers through the river Rhone in to the Mediterranean Sea to finally end up on the Camargue beaches to start their bleaching process. Every 3 months, Cathérine herself goes to the unique beaches of the Camarque to carefully select her wood. “Every piece has its own character, its own story, its own coloring process” according to Cathérine. “I cannot have anyone else make that selection. My inspiration starts by feeling the wood, hearing the sea, the search on the abandoned, bewildered beach.”
“An exclusive and forceful furniture collection that unifies the strenght of stainless steel (Inox Aisi 316) and the imperfection of the Camargue driftwood from France in a fluent and magical way.”
