Muuto is a swedish brand who creates furniture and lighting in a beautiful way.

They create new and original perspectives with the aim to expand the Scandinavian design tradition,  following the meaning of their name in Finnish : “muutos” means “perspective”.

Objects are made sublime through new perpectives from designers across Scandinavia.

Here is a selection of pendant lights I particularly like : their shape is smooth and uncluttered.

The new Muuto pendant light out in 2015 is called “Grain”

designed by Jens Fager. It would fit perfectly well inside a cosy chalet atmosphere.

warm clean shape

GRAIN is a small lamp with plenty of personality, a clean and human shape inspired by daily life.

It is perfect for hanging in rows over a bar setting or placed in clusters of multiple lamps to create an alternative light installation over a table.

Equipped with a 4W LED bulb that can last up to 10.000 hours, the lamp will save energy, whilst reflecting a natural light and warm glow.

Here is a short video presenting the designer and his work.

I hope you enjoyed those lamps as much as I did and that it has been a good source of inspiration for you.

Bloomingville – ever changing homes

Bloomingville is a wholesale company from Denmark who supply home accessoires to retail- and e-shops.

Initially, Bloomingville’s product line consisted of items sourced from European producers as well as a small variety of pieces designed by the company’s founder, Betina Stampe. Over time that focus shifted, and today the vast majority of the products are designed in-house, supplemented by special vintage items sourced directly from selected suppliers in Southeast Asia and Africa. The unique Bloomingville style is a mixture of raw products with a nostalgic Scandinavian twist and reproductions of fantastic pieces from times past inspired by French brocante.
