Here are a few simple tips to make your kitchen a better place while staying within a budget.
1. Declutter: 0 €
We often tend to keep lots of little things visible in the kitchen, some to have them handy, others because they are pretty or sentimental. Then gradually, we find ourselves faced with an amalgam where we finally can’t see … anything!
To feel comfortable in a room, we have to be able to free our mind. Thus, by leaving some empty spaces, it appears that we have always some room left to add things if necessary. We feel more free. Conversely, if the space is cluttered, you feel overwhelmed and adding an element is impossible.
Here’s an example:
BEFORE: Doing the dishes seem a chore. AFTER: What a pleasant place to do the dishes with a view of the greenery!
What we did here:
- Remove the little trinkets and postcards,
- Place garlic and onions elsewhere (because in front of the window, they germinate faster!)
- Keep only a few decorative elements of the same style (up to three),
- Add a little greenery, a few leaves considered as weeds in your garden can give a completely different style to your home!
- We voluntarily leave the tomato, it gives a touch of color, and makes cooking more alive, more human.
Now, what to do with all that has been removed here?
2. Rearrange intelligently: for less than 40 €

Where to display the postcards?
One solution might be to install this magnetic chalkboard on one wall of the kitchen. IKEA, € 14.95
If you only have a smaller space or if you want to customize a wall, try painting covered with magnetic chalkboard paint. Expect to pay about € 12 per 250 ml of paint Magner, about 0.5 m in 2 to 3 layers.
Black paint : About 13 € pot 300mL at Castorama.

Where to keep the garlic and onions?
Under your wall cabinets, install a bar GRUNDTAL available at IKEA and by mail order, 40 to 80 cm for a price of € 2.99 to 3.99.
On this bar, you can hang all sorts of things, such as cutlery drainer, which would nicely carry the garlic and onions! Its price: € 4.99.IKEA is filled with good tips and affordable products to complement the rail and free up the workspace: Click here to view products suitable for the walls.

What about all those little decorative items left?
If you value these objects and find them all nicer than each other, try to sort them in groups of 3 or 4 of the same style. Then, just display some of these objects and keep the others in the closet. You can then change your setting to suit your desires, without having to get rid of your little decorative objects.
The result: a stylish kitchen, tidy, and pleasant to live for less than 40 euros!
