Modern chalet interior design

Visit this chalet in Savoy with rustic and modern design at a time.

Patrick Lecoq, the carpenter, escapes from the traditional mountain décor to create a unique atmosphere while remaining cozy and pleasant.

This is exactly the chalet style I like, less “heavy” and loaded than the traditional style, which I sometimes criticized for having “too much” wood. The living area is large, full of light and clear.

The visit begins with this very cozy lounge thanks to the materials used

The gray wool covers the couch. Fur covers stools and skins on the seats. Just a few touches of red warms up the atmosphere thanks to a few cushions.

The living room is separated from the kitchen by a bar of gray stones that combine very well with the wooden wall and the wood kitchen furnitures. The walls of the corridors are white, which gives a nice effect of space in these small alleys ..

Note the skins of cows used to cover stools: another small twinkling of rustic look!

In the bedroom, the walls are covered with wood and white paint, a good balance not to overload the room too much. We find the white fur again, here on the chair beside the bed. Plaid also gives a very soft and cozy feel to the room. chambre fourrure chalet

About Patrick LECOQ

Carpenter fitter by training, Patrick Lecoq acquired a solid experience abroad (layout of palace in Emirates and Saudi Arabia). He then joined project managers team of Disneyland ® Paris for 15 years, where he is the prime contractor for the projects layout of shops and restaurants in the theme park as well as many housing for employees of the company Disney ®.

Here’s now another chalet interior, also created by the same carpenter.

The vertical massive stone fireplace marks the middle of the room. The curtains are white crème to lighten the whole wood and stone interior.

The “mobile” white lights add a touch of lightness that contrasts with the imposing stone fireplace. cuisine ouverte sur salon chalet

The coffee table, round and white, adds some softness to the room.

The white kitchen slice over the entire rustic interior and adds more modernity. I love the practical side of the central island to facilitate the way of both sides to the living room or to the dining room (below, the living room has a side “light cozy” lil never seen, read more!).

About the carpentry

Carpentry Patrick Lecoq is located in Savoie since 2005, in the village of Seez, near Bourg Saint Maurice.
Its intervention area covers mainly common Tarentaise resorts Haute-Tarentaise (Val d’Isere, Tignes, Les Arcs, La Plagne, Seez, Bourg St Maurice, Courchevel, …) and the Paris region.

The dining area

Another successful marriage between “heavy” and “light”. I love it! The massive wooden table, traditional, brings warmth and coziness to the space. It invites for the hearty meal with family or friends. Above, three lights “preened” white follow each other  as if they were floating in the air just like clouds. A cozy set, rustic and modern at the same time! Congratulations Mr. Lecoq!

And finally, one last picture taken into another chalet. The living room, more masculine, mixes wood materials, stone, wool and synthetic fur creating a more sober and serious feel. A good modern and rustic mix! Screen-Shot-2013-08-29-at-02.00.35

That’s it ! I hope it has been as inspiring for you as it has been for me to create this post ! Thanks for reading, and feel free to share !
